SYSteward privacy

Effective 3 November 2026

SYSteward is a Windows app published by MazTech. This notice covers the app. The website has its own privacy notice.

It works on your PC

SYSteward reads information on your PC to show it to you and to carry out the actions you choose: file and folder names and sizes in cache and storage locations, your hardware and Windows details, temperatures and load, running programs and services, startup entries, installed programs and your devices’ drivers. This stays on your PC. SYSteward has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting.

When it uses the internet

Only when you start an action that needs it:

  • Check for driver updates asks Windows Update, the Microsoft Update Catalog, NVIDIA and Intel for drivers that match your devices. To do that it sends your devices’ model IDs (hardware IDs), not your files or your name.
  • Downloading a driver you picked fetches it from the official Microsoft, NVIDIA or Intel server.
  • Check for app updates reads the latest version number from maztech.me. The request carries the app’s version, as any web request does with your IP address.
  • Speed test runs only after you agree. It asks Measurement Lab (locate.measurementlab.net) for the nearest test server and runs the test against it (a measurementlab.net server). Measurement Lab publishes test results, including your IP address, as open data under its privacy policy. If you also tick the YouTube check, the app times a connection to YouTube’s ingest server (a.rtmp.youtube.com) and sends nothing over it.
  • Ping and DNS tests you start contact only the servers they show: your DNS server, 1.1.1.1 or a server you type in.
  • Support links open manufacturer pages in your browser. A Dell link that includes your device’s service tag asks you first.

Each of those services handles the request under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent when the app simply opens.

Your licence

When you buy Pro through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the payment and the licence. We never see your card details. Microsoft shares sales reports with us under its own terms.

Reports and feedback you send

Exports such as a PC specification report are saved where you choose. Device identifiers like serial numbers and network addresses are hidden in that report unless you choose to include them. The Send feedback button opens an email in your own mail app, filled in with the app version, Windows version, licence status and a machine ID so we can help. You see all of it before you send, and you can delete any of it.

Your rights and contact

We hold no account data from the app. If you email us, we keep the message as long as we need to answer it. For anything about your data, write to privacy@maztech.me.

Changes

We will update this page and its date whenever the app starts reading or sending anything new.
